Lefty Phillips

Another Bee who made it to the majors was Lefty Phillips. Phillips pitched only five games for Bisbee before a sore arm ended his playing career. He remained in baseball where he worked as a scout, and as a pitching coach for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Later, Phillips was director of player development for the Los Angeles Angels and in 1969, became the Angels manager.
